Raised on the Westbank of New Orleans, Louisiana, I come from a strong Cajun heritage. My family and I moved to Texas in 2001, and for the past eight years, I’ve been a proud resident of the Humble/Atascocita area. Before that, I raised my three daughters in Crosby, and today, I’m enjoying life as a proud “Maw-Maw” to three beautiful grandchildren—(there's nothing better than G’s!!)

Not the barbecues, the long weekend, or the sales — but the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and for the freedoms we often take for granted.

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom came with a cost paid by heroes who never made it home.
May we honor them not only with words, but with gratitude, respect, and by living lives worthy of their sacrifice.
