According to new research highlighted by Builder Magazine, buyers are increasingly focused on homes that feel functional, intentional, and worth making a move for, rather than simply offering more square footage.

The 2026 trends include right sized floor plans, flexible spaces, strong indoor and outdoor connections, better storage, upgraded kitchens, wellness focused bathrooms, pet friendly features, and future ready details such as EV charging.
