Moving can be a big change, especially for our furry friends. Here’s a few tips to help ease the transition:

If you’re selling your home, arrange for your pets to stay at the home of a friend during showings or the open house.

On the day of the move, if you cannot board your pet, make sure the pet is secure in a crate, or in their carrier (or cage as needed)

Once the movers are gone, it’s tempting to let the pet loose in the new space to explore, but that can be overwhelming. Instead, allow them to adjust room by room. Give them a “home base” with food, toys, their litter box, all their favorite things.

When they seem comfortable, you can move things to a more permanent spot.

With patience, your furry friend will be the king or queen of the castle in no time!
