Florida Property Tax Reform What It Means for You
Big changes may be coming to Florida homeowners and it could impact your bottom line.

A proposed amendment on the November 2026 ballot could:
-Increase the homestead exemption from about $50,000 to $150,000 in 2027 and up to $250,000 by 2028�-Potentially eliminate or significantly reduce non school property taxes for many homeowners�-Lower the cap on non homestead properties impacting rentals and commercial real estate
-This could mean major savings for homeowners but there are also important considerations�-Benefits apply mainly to primary homesteaded residences�-Future buyers may have waiting periods to qualify
