A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Tammy Johnson retired from a career in state government after 30 years of dedicated service. For more than 19 years, Tammy was employed with the judicial branch of state government where she became a recognized expert in matters of law involving property transactions. Serving as a legal officer in her role as assistant clerk of court for Wake County, Tammy ad
judicated numerous cases involving estate sales, liens, and foreclosures. She also managed three extremely successful programs with the NC Department of Health and Human Services serving as the department’s lead person for questions relating to state, national, and international adoptions. Her integrity, hard work, and dedication to service resulted in her being awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by the governor upon her retirement. Since then, she has bought and sold real estate, and manages her own investment properties. Long before retiring from her career in government, Tammy and her husband, Gale, fell in love with the Outer Banks. After 20 years of weekend and holiday commutes, they bought their first beach house in 2008. Not long after, they decided to make their stay permanent and now call Nags Head home. When Tammy takes a little time off, you’ll find her enjoying the company of her family, fishing with her husband or taming her pack of Basenjis. She has a passion for travel, loves to read and takes time to enjoy all that coastal Carolina has to offer.
