Airbnb recently announced that, starting November 20th, hosts will no longer be able to require guests to complete extensive cleaning chores before checkout.

We're glad to see this change, because it's something we've believed in since we started.

At Avocet Stays, we've always had a chore free checkout policy.

No stripping the beds, starting laundry, starting the dishwasher, sweeping the floors, or working through a long list of cleaning instructions before you leave.

We have a wonderful in house cleaning team who takes care of all that.

It doesn't matter where you book- Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Google Vacation Rentals or directly through our website, our policy stays the same.

All we ask is that you take your belongings, lock up, and check out on time.

That's it!

We know how much goes into planning a trip, and the last thing we want is for our guests to spend their final morning cleaning.

Chore free checkout has always been part of the Avocet Stays experience, and that's not changing. 🤍

Fall is one of our favorite time to mountain bike in Klamath Falls.

The summer heat has finally let up, the fall colors are showing off, and the cooler temperatures make those longer rides a whole lot more enjoyable.

We're pretty lucky to have some incredible trail systems right here in Klamath Falls. A couple of our favorites are Speed King and Chinquapin!

One of the best parts? You don't have to travel far to get to the trails.

🚵 Spence Mountain: Approximately 10 minutes from our Running Y properties.

🚵 Moore Park: Just a few minutes from downtown Klamath Falls, making it an easy ride destination when you're staying at one of our in town homes. The skills park is an awesome place to be for practicing rolls, jumps and turns (featured in this video.)

Explore the trails. Grab some food at one of the fabulous locally owned restaurants downtown and head back to one of our furnished vacation rentals!

Fall riding season won't last forever. Bring your bikes and come explore the Klamath Basin!

Looking for something to do prior to check in, or before dinner?

One of my favorite ways to spend an evening in Klamath Falls is taking a walk through the Wood River Wetlands around sunset.

The views are beautiful, the wildlife is incredible, and you never know what you might spot.

On my last evening walk, I was lucky enough to see an American Bittern! If you're familiar with these birds, you know they're not always easy to spot.

Afterward, head into town for dinner at Thai Orchid or grab a pizza at Rodeos. (My favorite 😍)

Then back to your cozy vacation rental to settle in for the night.

A sunset walk, some good food, and a comfortable place to come back to. Not a bad way to spend an evening in Klamath Falls.

We've added another beautiful home to our Running Y Ranch Resort collection!

Meet Alderwood at The Running Y, our newest 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath vacation rental townhome.

One of my favorite things about Alderwood is the layout. It has two primary suites with deep soaking tubs, including one on the main floor, which is especially nice when two couples or a family are traveling together. Everyone gets a little more privacy without having to book separate places.

The living room has gorgeous vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and a gas fireplace. There's a private deck with a pergola for spending time outside and enjoying special time with loved ones! Alderwood at Running Y comes with 6 access cards to enjoy all the resort amenities.

Ever wondered what an Avocet is?

Meet the American Avocet (pronounced AV-uh-set).

These beautiful shorebirds visit the Klamath Basin during the warmer months (usually Spring and Summer,) with their slender legs, gracefully curved bills, striking black and white wings and their rusty colored plumage during breeding season.

The first time I saw one, I was at Miller Island and was immediately taken by how beautiful and elegant it was.

I couldn't get it out of my head. The bird. The name. Everything about it.

When I started thinking about rebranding my vacation rental business earlier this year, I kept coming back to the Avocet.

I've always been someone who, when a thought sticks with me long enough, eventually will take action.

That's how Avocet Stays came to be.

A little piece of the Klamath Basin, and a name that felt as elegant and beautiful as the bird. 🤍

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year at Running Y, and Sage Creek Chalet is a pretty great place to enjoy it.

Tucked among the pines with a creek running alongside the property, the wraparound deck is easily one of our favorite features. You can sit out there, listen to the creek, the birds and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Inside, there's plenty of space for everyone to spread out, with three bedrooms, a comfortable living area, and a fully equipped kitchen.
