When is the best time to sell a house?

The honest answer is usually: when you need to sell it.

Spring gets most of the attention, but buyers don’t disappear when summer ends. In my 15 years in real estate, December has consistently been my best month. Fall and winter buyers are often serious, and many are thinking about being settled before the new year.

The season matters, but so do your circumstances, the condition of the house, and how it’s priced.
