When we opened the first inspection service in Raleigh in 1980, virtually no one had even heard of a home inspection or commercial building inspection. When inspectors became licensed in the early 1990’s then-Governor Jim Hunt appointed Steve Smallman to the first NC Home Inspector Licensure Board, and during 7 years of service on that Board Steve helped write the Standards of Practice for NC inspectors, and write the Inspector Examination that all prospective inspectors must pass to be licensed.
