One thing we'd tell anyone BEFORE starting a remodel:

Don't choose a contractor based on the final photos alone.
Ask questions about the parts you won't see when the project is finished.

-How will the area be protected during construction?
-What happens if hidden damage is discovered?
-Who handles unexpected changes?
-What prep goes underneath the tile?
-How will you communicate during the project?

The beautiful tile and cabinets are the fun part.
The answers to those questions can tell you a whole lot more about how your remodel is actually going to go.

What started as a flooring problem turned into something much bigger. 👀

Once the damaged flooring came up, the extent of the moisture damage underneath became very clear.

So we didn't just cover it back up.

The damaged material was removed, the affected area was cleaned and treated, the floor was properly repaired, and new flooring went down.
Because the part of a renovation you can't see when we're finished matters just as much as the part you can.

Most people see the finished room.
We see everything that happened before it.
The measurements that had to be right. The prep nobody will ever notice. The cuts that needed to line up. The problems that had to be solved. And about 47 trips back to the truck for the one tool we just had in our hand. 😂

A beautiful finished project is really the result of hundreds of little decisions made along the way.
That's the part of remodeling we don't show enough.
So we're going to change that.
We'll be sharing more of what happens between the before and the after — including the messy parts.
