The truth is that 20% down is NOT required for many homebuyers.
There are so many options these days...

• Conventional loans with down payments as low as 3%
• FHA financing with as little as 3.5% down
• VA loans that may offer 0% down for eligible veterans
• USDA financing that may offer 0% down on qualifying properties for eligible buyers
• There are lenders with programs for teachers and first responders...and SO many other options

Putting 20% down can have advantages, but waiting until you've saved 20% isn't the best way for all.

Had the pleasure of going to the ribbon cutting with the Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce for GiGi's Playhouse Knoxville this morning! What a great space for families with children with Down Syndrome to go and learn and play! So impressive and all run with grants and donations. Knoxville is very fortunate to have them here!
