These are things you can expect when living in Knoxville, TN

- During UT football season, on Friday’s you wear orange.

- Whether you’re a UT football fan or not, you better know the home game schedule because that determines everything traffic wise.

- If someone says something is “15 minutes away,” it could easily be 30 during rush hour on I-40 or Pellissippi Parkway.

- Everyone has their own “best” route to avoid interstate traffic.

- Summer weekends belong on the lake if you have a boat—or know someone who does.

- The Smokies aren’t just for tourists and are apart of your personality.

- You’ll probably run into someone you know at the grocery store or coffee shop.

- Never trust the weather forecast —it is bipolar and we call it East Tennessee weather for a reason.

- when someone says the entire town shuts down for a few inches of snow, it’s true.

- Everyone has a favorite Weigel’s.

- Dollywood isn’t just for tourists—locals buy season passes too.

- Hold the door for someone, wave when someone lets you merge, and be kind. Southern manners still matter here.
