This is me ripping up carpet back in 2005. We had just moved into a 3 bedroom twin home in the small but quaint town of Skippack, PA. The bones of the house were good but it needed a lot of cosmetic updates for it to really feel like home.

I am so glad I documented the journey!

I painted every wall and every last piece of trim in that house. With the help of a friend, I learned how to hang wallpaper and I redid the dining room. I replaced appliances and gave all the bedrooms and bathrooms complete makeovers. I even turned the old indoor patio into a cute sunroom.

While it took a little longer to do myself, for as long as we lived in that home I was able to appreciate and enjoy my own labor of love.

When our realtor walked into the home after the transformation, she said the work I put into it raised the value of the home by at least $10,000.

I was always proud of that house and I've never stopped dreaming of making over the next one.
