Why add to your stress by listing as a FSBO? This is not advisable when, according to NAR, half of home sellers who did not use an agent admit to crying at some point in the process.

In fact, Fifty-two percent of unrepresented home sellers said they felt overwhelmed by the entire sales process.

On the flip side, homeowners who hired an agent were more likely to say they felt good about their sale and expressed less stress.

The new year is a great time for assessing your real estate goals. If your plans include buying a home or selling, why not make this your year?

It's a good idea to be aware of what the market trends are expected to be for the new year so that you can make solid plans. 📃

Here are 3 main questions (and answers) you may be considering as the new year approaches.

1️⃣ Will the Housing Market Crash in 2024?
Not only will prices likely not drop substantially in the new year, but prices are actually more likely to increase. Existing home prices are predicted by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) to be 2.6% higher than the year before.

2️⃣ What’s the Average House Price in 2024?
The average home price in the U.S. was $745,847 in October 2023, but the main thing to know is that home prices are determined by inventory and demand.

3️⃣ Will Mortgage Rates Go Down in 2024?
NAR believes rates for 30-year mortgages will go down and is predicting a drop from 7.5% to 6.3% by the end of 2024. Buyer demand is still likely to be greater than housing supply, which means home prices should stay relatively the same.

According to NAR, interest rates have declined to the lowest level in 7 months, and new home builds and decreasing mortgage rates gives us hope for a better 2024.

Choosing to relocate to a new area is an exciting decision. Moving to a new city involves lots of unknowns and decisions that need to be determined.

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed at times, and my job as a real estate professional is to use my vast experience to make relocation a pleasure rather than the pain it can be.

Here are a few of my top tips to consider before making the decision to relocate.

■ Research the intended area (Choosing a prime location is the most important step in relocating, and there are many factors to consider about the new city. Be sure to research schools, parks, restaurants, community activities, and travel times to your favorite frequent stops.)

■ Set up all utilities (After you choose your new location, begin the process of switching all utilities to your new home. This will require contacting your internet and electric providers. Keep in mind that any subscriptions and delivery services will also need to be updated to your new address. Additionally, be sure to research local doctors, dentists, and optometrists for your family).

■ Find new employment (Finding a new employer is essential if you choose to move far away from your previous residence. The potential employment opportunities may even impact where you choose to move, if you receive a job offer that is right for you!)

■ Start packing early (After all the details are in order, ensure that you allow plenty of time to pack all your items. You may decide to downsize or donate certain items at this time. Additionally, hiring a moving company can help take some of the stress of relocating off your shoulders).
