Do you really need a local real estate agent to buy a Gatlinburg rental?

Technically, you can search for cabins, estimate potential revenue and research short-term rental rules on your own.

The bigger question is how much time you want to spend figuring out zoning, permits, taxes, insurance, rental projections, property access, maintenance needs and which details could affect the cabin’s performance.

A Gatlinburg rental is more than a real estate purchase. It’s a small hospitality business. The right local guidance can help you evaluate the numbers, identify potential risks and connect with trusted property managers and vendors before you buy.

You can absolutely do plenty of the research yourself. You just shouldn’t have to become a Smokies STR expert while making a major investment.
