ALL realtors are now required by law to have a contract with a buyer before they can show you any properties.🏡 If your realtor asking you to sign a contract makes you uncomfortable… unfortunately you’re going to run into that with every realtor at every brokerage- we are all required to do it.
Buyers agency agreements ARE NOT NEW. Most realtors have already been doing them for years, they just haven’t been mandatory until now.
But what does this contract entail?📑
The dollar amount your Realtor will be paid is negotiable between the buyer and Realtor. Once that amount is written in the contract, your Realtor cannot be paid more than that. IF the home you’re buying is offering a higher compensation to a buyer’s agent, your agent can only accept what is written in your contract.
When you submit an offer on a property, you can include a stipulation that the seller pay the commission on the buyer’s behalf.
The buyers representation agreement also allows your Realtor to give advice, act on your behalf, and draw up legal documents for Real Estate transactions.📝
