What Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop actually is - It’s Dolly Parton’s first branded roadside travel stop, opening Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in Cornersville, Tennessee, right off I-65 at Exit 22.

I’m loving all the new energy around Covenant Health Park lately. It feels like this whole area is turning into a new Knoxville hangout spot. Baseball, food, local flavor… that’s a pretty good summer combo.

I keep coming back to this North Knoxville data because it’s such a good reminder that “the market” isn’t one-size-fits-all. East Tennessee REALTORS® forecasted 3.1% price growth for Knoxville, but North Knoxville is showing a 5.4% year-over-year price dip — while sales still jumped 28.6%.

To me, that says activity is still there… but pricing strategy matters more than ever. Make sure you choose the right Realtor for you who understands the market data!

I’ve seen a lot of questions about the new Knox County property assessments, so here’s the simple way to estimate it:

1. Find your new appraised value on your reassessment notice or the Knox County Property Search.
2. For residential property, multiply by 25%.
Example: $400,000 appraised value × 25% = $100,000 assessed value.

3. Divide assessed value by 100, then multiply by the tax rate.
Example using the current 2025 county rate:
$100,000 ÷ 100 × $1.5540 = $1,554 estimated county tax.

If you live inside Knoxville city limits, city taxes are separate and use the city rate too. Current 2025 rates are $1.5540 county and $2.1556 city per $100 of assessed value, but the 2026 rates will be set later this summer, so your final bill may not match this estimate exactly.
𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞, you can file an informal appeal online through the Knox County Property Assessor’s website until 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟗 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. Results are expected in mid-to-late June, and if you still disagree, the next step is the County Board of Equalization.

Save this so you can run your numbers, and share it with a Knox County neighbor who’s trying to make sense of their new assessment.

I’ve been watching the East TN market closely, and this spring is getting interesting. East Tennessee REALTORS® reported that April pending sales were up 10% year over year after a slower March, which makes the local market feel a little more active again.
