Did you know that some companies choose to hide exposure to your home by convincing you that a private Exclusive listing is “good” for you? The truth is, it’s good for them because they’re trying to find the buyer on their own so they can make more on their commission. But, you’re likely not going to sell it for as much as you could if it had the full exposure of the MLS, Zillow, and other major websites. The truth is, a private Exclusive listing is NOT allowed to be publicly advertised AT ALL! No sign in the yard, no websites, nothing! The minute it is publicly advertised, it MUST be listed in the MLS for other agents and brokerages to find and show. So make sure you ask questions before you agree to list your home with an agent that isn’t looking out for your best interests. Also, experience counts! I’ve been in real estate for 29 years. I know what it takes to get a home sold during the good, normal, and the not-so-good tough markets. Just some food for thought!
