I’ve tried to write advertisements for today, but nothing feels right. 😔

We are still grieving here in Sevierville. Our hearts just aren’t in cabin selling today.

So forgive us for taking a day. We’ll get back to sharing our cabins and the Smokies with you tomorrow.

Today, we’re just going to remember the woman who meant so much to East Tennessee—and to all of us. 🦋💔

💔 What Would Dolly Do Wednesday feels very different today.

Today, we remember the woman who taught us to dream big, laugh often, give generously, love people, and never be afraid to sparkle. ✨

Dolly Parton was more than a Tennessee icon. She was part of the heart of these mountains, and it’s hard to imagine the Smokies without her light. 🦋

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the kindness, and the memories.

🥾🦙 Hike to Grotto Falls…and you might have some VERY special trail companions! 🌲💦

One of the most unique hikes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the trail to Grotto Falls—a beautiful 25-foot waterfall you can actually walk behind! 😍💦

But here’s something that makes this hike even more special: on certain mornings, if you time it right, you can hike up the trail ahead of the famous LeConte llama train and then watch the llamas make their way up the mountain carrying supplies to LeConte Lodge! 🦙⛰️

🏡 What is LeConte Lodge?
Perched near the top of Mount Le Conte at about 6,400 feet, it’s the highest guest lodge in the eastern United States. There are no roads leading to it—overnight guests have to hike in, and supplies have to make the trip up the mountain too!

That’s where the llamas come in. 🦙❤️ Their padded, soft-footed hooves make them especially well suited for mountain trails because they create less impact on the trail than traditional pack animals. They carry fresh food, linens and other supplies up to the lodge—and haul things back down on the return trip.

The Grotto Falls hike is about 2.6 miles round trip, making it a fantastic Smokies adventure even if you don’t continue all the way to LeConte.
