One reason many home problems become expensive is surprisingly simple:
They happen slowly.
A small crack.
A little moisture.
A musty smell that only appears during certain weather.
A gutter that overflows during heavy rain.
Because these changes develop gradually, homeowners often become accustomed to them. What seems "normal" today may actually be a sign that a condition has been evolving for months—or even years.
That doesn't mean every small issue is a major problem.
Far from it.
But homes rarely wake up one morning and decide to have a problem. More often, they provide clues long before significant repairs become necessary.
One of the most valuable parts of a home inspection isn't simply identifying conditions.
It's helping people understand where those conditions may be headed over time.
What is one thing around your home you've been meaning to address, but haven't gotten around to yet?
