Cold Weather Reminder – Preventing Frozen Pipes

With colder weather approaching, we want to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to help prevent frozen pipes and potential water damage.

If you have experienced frozen pipes in the past, or know certain areas of the home are vulnerable, please take extra precautions now.

Cold Weather Pipe Prevention Tips:

➡️Keep the heat set to a consistent temperature, even when away.
➡️Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate.
➡️Allow faucets to drip slightly during extremely cold temperatures.
➡️Ensure garage doors are closed if there is plumbing nearby.
➡️Make sure exterior hoses are disconnected and outdoor faucets are shut off.
➡️If safe to do so, check crawl spaces or basements for exposed pipes.

If you experience frozen pipes or loss of water:

➡️Notify us immediately.
➡️Turn off the main water supply if a pipe bursts.
➡️Do not attempt to thaw pipes with open flames.
