The City of La Crosse Snow Emergency has been declared. The 48-hour clock will officially begin at 6:00 PM, Friday, February 14th, 2025 , so please prepare for Alternate Side Parking. The snow emergency will expire on Sunday, February 16th , at 6:00 PM.

The snow emergency may be extended or cancelled as needed. Contact the Police Dept or Police Parking Utility for questions related to parking policies and enforcement at 608-789-7295.

How it works: When alternate side parking is in effect, the driver must park on the side of the street that coincides with the day of the week. Today is January 9 so people should be parked on the odd side of the street. There will be no citations issued between 6 p.m. and midnight so people may park on the even side of the street tonight in preparation for tomorrow.

**UPDATE** The City of La Crosse has declared a Snow Emergency. Please prepare for Alternate Side Parking. ALERT: 8 AM 12/15/22 Contact the Police department for questions on ordinance enforcement. The Street Dept is posting information here as a courtesy and are not available to reply to comments or questions during snow plowing events via Facebook.

Crews will begin plowing mains this morning, then move to salting mains. We will most likely holding off on salt/sanding residential streets until after we see what the afternoon/evening forecast foretells.

If/when alternate side parking is announced we will update this post.
