Great East County EDC Gillespie Field Bus Tour this morning. It was hosted by the County of San Diego Airports and its Director Jamie Abbott, who gave us the lay of the land and then explained different operations as we went around on the bus.

The highlight, although not much to see at this point, is the 70 acres of land slated for future aviation related development, where the former Cajon Speedway was once located.

We stopped by GKN Aerospace to hear a brief discussion of what they do at their new 150,000 sq.ft. facility as well as what is available next door to them by Joe Anderson with JLL

We also stopped off at the San Diego Air & Space Museum, Gillespie Field Annex, San Diego County Sheriff’s ASTREA Base and had lunch at the Allen Airways Flying Museum.

The tour was also sponsored by Cox and Birds Eye Aerial Drones 👏

Finally, thanks Angela Nagel for coordinating the event and Barry Jantz for at times insightful commentary! 😅

Great San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce First Friday Breakfast today at the El Cajon Elks Lodge with our Broker Mark Robak.

Assessor/ Recorder/ County Clerk Jordan Z. Marks was there and gave a commendation to our Chamber Chair, Lauren Smee Cook

Myles King was there as a first time guest and I was impressed with his business cards in various colors, which makes sense for a graphic artist!

And Chamber stalwart Barry Jantz was there along with Lemon Grove Councilmember Yadira Altamirano

Finally, Mark rode his bike as May is Bike Month! 🚲
