93 saves and 957 views on Zillow. For one home in La Mesa, that is a real signal.

Every week I look through the homes for sale in my market. This week I checked 79 La Mesa listings. The homes we checked averaged 61 saves each. This home pulled 93, which is 53% above that average. That is why it is this week's Deal of the Week.

Saves and views measure attention, not offers or tours. But attention is where everything starts, and this home has a lot of it right now.

Spring Valley's detached-home market looked different this August compared with last year.

In ZIP code 91977, homes took 18 days to get an accepted offer, compared with 30 days in August 2025. The median sale price increased from $764,000 to $813,750, and the number of homes listed for sale fell from 76 to 46.

At the same time, closed sales dipped from 22 to 20.

What does that mean? Buyers had fewer homes to choose from, and the homes that sold moved faster. Sellers still needed to price carefully, with homes selling for about 99.4% of their original list price on average.

These numbers cover detached homes in 91977, so they don't represent every property or neighborhood in Spring Valley.

Santee stayed tight even with rates at 7.40%.

The main reason is still supply. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 1.8 months of supply in 92071 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. Nearly half of homes went under contract within two weeks, and 51% sold above list price.

There was one honest soft spot. The median sale price dipped 1.6% from the same months in 2025. So this is not a market for wish pricing. It is a market for smart pricing.

Here's what caught my eye. Among the homes we checked on Zillow this week, the average was 42 saves. This home has 287. That's 582% more than the average, plus 1,717 views. I looked at 275 homes for sale to find it.

Every week I look at what buyers in Alpine are paying attention to on Zillow. This week I checked 47 homes for sale, and one stood out clearly.

This home had 86 saves and 1,199 views on Zillow. The homes we checked averaged 32 saves. This one had 166% more than that average. For a home its age, nothing I looked at came close.
