A common defect found when doing a home inspection. This a plumbing stack vent that passes through the roof cover. Often times the rubber boot on the stack flashing fails and moisture intrusion into the attic space can be a concern, especially if not replaced in a timely manner.

Had a home inspection in Christmas valley, and decided to stop at the Fort Rock turnoff. I have passed by these informational monuments many times over the years and never taken the time out of my day to stop. Well I did stop, and I enjoyed reading the history of the Fort Rock area. And also learned a few things I didn’t know. Sometimes it’s good to take a few minutes and enjoy your surroundings.
