Guys! It’s been 3️⃣ weeks since I last posted ( )! So much has happened in that time, that saying it’s been a whirlwind is an UNDERSTATEMENT.

First, the surgery I had on my sinuses took me DOWN FOR THE COUNT🤕(I debated on posting a pic, but what the heck, life isn’t always pretty)! I was so miserable and had so much discomfort, I couldn’t even do regular life, let alone think of something fun to post about.🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s been a super rough recovery...way worse than I had anticipated. I didn’t get my energy back for over two weeks and that’s been the hardest part. I’m not quite out of the woods yet, but I at least wanted to say 👋🏻 and tell you what’s been going on with me. I didn’t want you to think I fell off the face of the planet!

Second, we had our pup, Violet, spayed two weeks before my surgery. We thought it was good timing and that she would be all healed by the time my surgery came. That was a mistake! Her stitches weren’t ready to come out until the day after my surgery, and when they did come out, she TORE OPEN her incision again that same day! My hubby had to rush her to the ER🚨to have an emergency surgery to sow her intestines back in!!!😱 So, he got to take care of TWO invalids, not just one...lucky him! Thank God for my MIL, though! She drove down from NorCal to help us manage the craziness, and we little couldn’t have done it with out her!

Third, remember how I posted that we were getting a new puppy???🐶 Not a good idea you ask? Well, Winston had to come home in the midst of all our chaos and the timing couldn’t have been worse! Eyeyiyi! I mean c’mon, who the heck gets a new pup when the primary caregiver is still incapacitated and the other dog is still wounded?! That’s right folks! My family! We definitely know how to overcommit ourselves.🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankfully, he’s just about the cutest and sweetest thing EVER!

Lastly, what does this all have to do with real estate? 🏠 It’s my long winded way of telling you, I’ll be back VERY soon! Monday, September 16th is my official first day back to work and I can’t wait! See you all soon!

So, I have been MIA the last couple of a days because I have to have surgery (septoplasty and turbinate reduction...ouch!) tomorrow, and I’m DREADING IT.😭 The dread has made me kinda check out, and when I check out social media seems to be there first thing to get thrown by the wayside...because let’s be honest, sometimes it feels like a chore. 🧹

But, today as I prepare my checklist of things to get to keep me comfortable during my recovery, I find myself wishing for a giant soaker tub.🛁 Apparently, showers aren’t recommended because you cant get your nose wet.🤷🏻‍♀️

So anywho, if you had your choice of soaker tub which one would it be? My favorite is...who am I kidding I LOVE THEM ALL! Beggars can’t be choosers, right?😍

I’m so glad I didn’t give up on myself and that I decided to try. If you know me, you know that I struggle with self-doubt and a major fear of failure. I think it’s probably something most people struggle with at some point in their life. For me, self-doubt crept in at a very young age and it’s taken me years to fight back and find my voice.

So today I’m celebrating more than just my accomplishment of hitting #2 in gross commissions. I’m celebrating that I didn’t give up on myself and that I listened to the still voice that whispered to me, “It’s only failure if you quit, Marisa.”🙌🏻

This is WAY overdue, like a month overdue, but who’s counting right?

Any-who, here’s the behind the scenes story of Lost Canyon Rd. and how my then buyers are now owners of their DREAM HOME!

The Situation: I woke up to a text message one morning from my friend. It was a picture of a house and had a caption that read, “I want this house!”, and she was dead serious. I was obviously excited and surprised because up until this point her and her hubby weren’t looking to buy a house. So I got to work! Not even 24 hours later we were walking the property and by the end of the tour they knew it was THE ONE!

The Challenge: my buyers weren’t pre-approved yet (FYI: I ALWAYS recommend getting a pre-approval BEFORE seeing a house. Trust me it’s WAY less stressful). BUT, their lender worked lightening fast and had a pre-approval in hand in less than 72 hours! The only other problem: another offer was looming.

The Offer: once we received the pre-approval my clients and I sat down and came up with a VERY solid offer for the sellers. My friend drafted a personal letter to the sellers of WHY they loved their house (not always recommended because it can backfire), I put some finishing touches on it, hit the submit button, and then waited.

The Acceptance: two days later the listing agent called me to tell me my buyers offer had been ACCEPTED!! He stated that they had rejected the other offer and we were in! He also mentioned that the letter (it worked this time🙌🏻) was a very nice touch. In addition, he commented on the offer summary page I always submit with offers. It helped seal the deal! I do a summary page on every offer for this very reason. We opened escrow the next day!

The Outcome: seven days later we were in ESCROW! Escrow was smooth and easy except for one little hiccup toward the end (no biggie), and now my clients are all moved in to their DREAM HOME!! It’s the best feeling to know I was part of making that happen!

My hubby really only has 1️⃣ rule in our house, “DO NOT under any circumstance let Marisa buy any more plants!” (I personally not a fan of this rule).😤

In his defense, I have spent hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars on plants, shrubs, flowers and succulents. I kill ALL of them. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. It’s an actual talent. But (big whiny BUT), I still feel like if I had this home with this property, my black👍🏻 would turn green. I mean come on!!😫

Now to convince my hubby. Wish me luck!!🤓
