In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ve focused on employee well-being through intentional activities that support connection, stress management, and overall wellness. 💚

Last week, we came together for a stress management Lunch & Learn with leadership coach Matt Polt, where we had an open and honest conversation about everyday stressors and shared practical ways to manage stress both at work and outside of it. We’ve also been using a wellness checklist of stress-reset activities throughout the workday to help create space to pause, reset, and recharge.

We’re proud to continue creating a workplace where mental well-being is supported every day, not just this month.

This quarter’s conversation focused on the “ownership effect” and the impact accountability has on both individual and team success. We had an amazing turnout for our first Kentucky Derby Party at La Vista City Centre 🐎

What began as a small gathering of family and friends at the home of our founders, the Ericksons, has grown into a community event welcoming nearly 500 attendees. It’s a meaningful reflection of Placemaker Properties’ commitment to creating spaces that bring people together.

We’re grateful to our tenants— Heights Draft Room, IMAGE Studios La Vista, Altar Papillion Studios, The Astro, Rocket Carwash, Palm Beach Tan, Waxing the City, Let It Fly Sports Bar - La Vista —for their strong community engagement and partnership in making events like this possible. We also appreciate the City of La Vista Government for their continued collaboration and support.

To celebrate Public Service Recognition Week, we want to take a moment to thank the public servants who help shape and protect the places we live, work, and gather.

At La Vista City Centre, we’re grateful for our strong partnership with the City of La Vista Government. Through this collaboration, we’ve created opportunities to connect the community through free events while progressing a shared vision for a welcoming downtown space. A special thank you goes to the La Vista Police Department for their ongoing presence and dedication. Your work doesn’t go unnoticed, and it makes a real difference in keeping our community safe and connected.

In downtown Omaha, The Corvina has also been fortunate to be served and protected by the Omaha Police Department. Residents often see officers on their regular patrols—including the occasional friendly wave from mounted patrol—which adds to that everyday sense of safety and community care that makes downtown feel like home.

At the heart of it all, we’re grateful for the partnerships that make these places thrive. At Placemaker Properties, we’re proud to help create and support communities where collaboration, connection, and care are part of everyday life.

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on how sustainability shows up in practical, everyday ways across our projects at Placemaker Properties.

We continue to invest in green space and thoughtful landscaping, helping create outdoor areas that improve usability, comfort, and environmental quality within a dense, mixed-use setting.

Across our properties, we support waste reduction and resource efficiency efforts, including accessible recycling, LED lighting, low-flow toilets, aerators, and shower heads, as well as smart irrigation controls—all designed to reduce energy and water use in meaningful, measurable ways.

More broadly, our work is grounded in urban infill development—focusing on strengthening existing communities rather than expanding outward. This approach makes better use of existing infrastructure, supports walkability, and helps create more connected, efficient places.

Sustainability isn’t a standalone initiative for us—it’s built into how we plan, design, and operate places over time as Placemakers.

Over the weekend, our team had the opportunity to represent La Vista City Centre at the Supernova match! 🏐

Through our partnership with Omaha Supernovas, we are excited to host an exclusive autograph signing and meet and greet at Heights Draft Room on Sunday, April 26th from 3PM to 4:30PM.

In addition, our local tenant, The Pen & Dagger Bookstore, will be offering a limited number of autographed copies of “Dream Like a Champion” by John Cook for purchase.
