🌊🏡 Facing challenges with the California Coastal Commission? You are not alone. A recent Dana Point case is bringing national attention to the growing concerns many California coastal homeowners are facing when trying to rebuild, improve, or protect their properties. A local homeowner received city approval to replace their aging coastal home, but according to the lawsuit, the California Coastal Commission delayed the process for more than 3 years before imposing 15 “special conditions” tied to the permit approval.

Among the reported demands:
▪️ Waiving rights to protect the property from coastal erosion and storms
▪️ Agreeing to potentially demolish portions of the home if ordered in the future
▪️ Funding government-required surveys
▪️ Redesigning the project for additional approval by an unelected executive director
