I want to be clear about that because I think it sometimes gets mistaken for something it's not.

Nice does not mean passive.

Nice does not mean I'll tell you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear.

Nice does not mean I'll back down when it's time to negotiate hard on your behalf.

What it means is that I genuinely care about the people I work with.

They're the first time buyers who were terrified and trying not to show it.

The family who had been through something hard and needed this move to feel like a fresh start.

The couple who had lived in the same house for thirty years and had no idea where to even begin.

Those are the ones that stay with me.

Because what they all had in common wasn't a price point or a neighborhood.

St. Louis was not supposed to be permanent.

We moved here from Chicago thinking we'd see how it went.

Two little girls, a new city, a fresh start that we weren't entirely sure about yet.

And then something happened that we didn't plan on.

This place got into us.

The neighbors.

The community.

The way people here actually show up for each other in ways that bigger cities sometimes make you forget are possible.

We stopped talking about what was next and started just living where we were.

That was over twenty years ago.

I've spent every year since helping other families find that same feeling.

I have never been someone who could do a job halfway.

Not because I'm trying to prove something.

Just because it's not in me to show up for something and not give it everything.

That's true of how I was raised.

It's true of how I ran my career in corporate.

And it became true of real estate the moment I started.

I pick up the phone.

I tell you the truth even when it's not what you want to hear.

I fight for your number at the table and I stay present from the first conversation all the way through to the last signature.

Not because that's what the job description says.
