If you’re a disabled Veteran in Louisiana, you may qualify for an additional property tax exemption on your primary residence based on your service connected disability.

It’s one of those benefits you may not hear much about, but it’s definitely worth knowing about if you’re thinking about buying a home.

Everybody is talking about SpaceX coming to Pecan Island. 🚀

Since the announcement, I’ve been asked by family and friends what I think it could mean for real estate around here.

The honest answer? Only time will tell.

There are valid reasons people are excited about the jobs and economic growth, and valid concerns about the environmental impact. I can understand both sides.

From a real estate perspective, I do think this could gradually put upward pressure on home prices in surrounding areas as more people move here for work.

I don’t expect prices to suddenly skyrocket. But as the project develops, it will be really interesting to watch what happens to our communities and our local market.

One of the hardest parts of being a Realtor for me is knowing that my clients may not always realize just how much I’m in this with them.

When I have to tell a buyer we got beat by another offer, I feel that disappointment too. When a seller’s buyers walk away unexpectedly, I feel that loss with them. Those conversations are hard because I genuinely care about the outcome.

And when I recommend a price for your home, know that it isn’t a random number. There is research, market data, comparable sales, competition and strategy behind it. I take that responsibility seriously.

But as hard as the disappointments can be, the joy of getting to the closing table never gets old.

Knowing you trusted me, trusted my advice and allowed me to be part of such an important chapter in your life means more to me than you probably realize.

Because you’re not just trusting me with a house. You’re trusting me with something that matters deeply to you.

One week post-op today. ❤️

If y’all know me, you know I’m not always the best with change. But last week really forced me to pause and appreciate how much I take for granted in our everyday routine.

With Brett off his feet, I suddenly took on all the things we normally share: school drop offs and pickups, groceries, cooking, cleaning, bath time, homework...

And when one of you is laid up, you quickly realize just how much “help” you truly get from your spouse. ❤️ Brett has been chipping in wherever he can from the couch, but it definitely gave me a new appreciation for the teamwork that keeps our family running.

It threw me out of my normal rhythm with work too, but I’m getting back into the swing of things this week.

Most importantly, I’m incredibly thankful this freak accident is something Brett can heal from. It could have been so much more serious, and for that, I am truly grateful.

And to our little village who stepped in with meals, helped with the girls, and simply showed up when we needed you… thank you. We are so grateful for you. ❤️

Episode 1: Demo Day 🛠️

We’re finally getting this laundry bathroom renovation moving! After a summer pause, the demo is officially finished, and now comes the fun part… figuring out exactly what I want to do with this space.

There’s something about that first full week of school that just resets my entire brain. 😂

Summer was fun, but whew… I was ready for some structure! Earlier mornings, a little more organization and a predictable schedule. I’m feeling refreshed, focused and ready to get back into a good rhythm.
