Sweeping changes to the real estate industry are going into effect STARTING TODAY. (8/17/2024) Real estate agents across the country must begin following new practices that will require buyers and tenants to sign a buyer agreement form… BEFORE… an agent can show them a home.

A Louisiana buyer agreement form is a contract created by a real estate brokerage to establish the terms and conditions of a working relationship between a client and the agency. The agreement will include the compensation to be awarded to the real estate agent from the purchase or lease of a property.

IF YOU REFUSE TO SIGN THIS AGREEMENT REALTORS CANNOT SHOW YOU THE HOME. (If a Realtor shows a property …WITHOUT a signed agreement ….the 1st offense is a $1,000 fine!) This agreement states that if the SELLER does NOT agree to pay the commission, then the BUYER will have to. You will have to agree to this BEFORE VIEWING THE HOME. Once this form is signed, that agent is now your agent.

Please do Not just go online and make random appointments to view homes. Call your agent of choice!! If you do not, the random agent you toured the home with …will now be your agent
