These hills at Sanders Ranch are a reminder of Moraga’s roots. Long before the town existed, this valley was part of Rancho Laguna de los Palos Colorados, a Mexican land grant where cattle grazed across the same oak-studded hillsides. Ranching shaped the landscape we still see today.

We’re lucky that places like Sanders Ranch is still able to enjoy scenes like these cows grazing on the hillside, just as they have for generations. 🐄
