My background includes homeowner hurricane recovery operations across the Louisiana Gulf Coast, teaching at the Univ. of Louisiana - Lafayette, professional photography, and several years on staff at the Episcopal School of Acadiana. I'm happily married to Gary Kinsland, Professor Emeritus of Geophysics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since 1977. Gary hails from the coast of Oregon, but if you spend five minutes talking to him, he'll convince you that South Louisiana is the best place in the world! An avid outdoorsman, he embraces Louisiana as a sportsman's paradise. "the comet that killed the dinosaurs," along with Louisiana flooding and the Mississippi River control structures. Additionally, he has published research on the origins and flood history of the Vermilion River in South Louisiana. He's a pretty neat guy. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor gardening, especially flower gardening. I tend to be a sucker for annuals, especially zinnias and cosmos. I also love hibiscus, cannas, and my beloved Peggy Martin climbing rose.
