Look who made the Small Town USA page! Our own Charlie Joseph’s Downtown! Downtown LaGrange is full of small town charm!

In LaGrange, Georgia you’ll find some of the best hot dogs in the state at Charlie Joseph’s, a tiny downtown favorite that has been part of the city since 1920. What began as a fruit stand and sandwich counter has grown into one of LaGrange’s most beloved food stops, with the original downtown location now at 128 Bull Street after moving there in 1946. Inside, the place still has that old-school lunch counter feel, with Coca-Cola signs, framed photos, vintage pieces, and decades of local memories covering the walls.

The menu keeps things simple in the best way, with soft steamed-bun hot dogs loaded with their famous chili, slaw dogs, burgers, chips, Brunswick stew, and homemade ice cream sandwiches made with fresh-baked cookies. It’s the kind of spot where service is fast, the workers are friendly, and the whole place feels like a piece of small-town Georgia history. Charlie Joseph’s has been feeding generations of LaGrange families for more than a century, and it still draws people in for the same reason it always has: simple food done right, served in a place that feels warm, nostalgic, and worth coming back to.
