📋 California Landlords & Renters — New Law Alert! 🏠
AB 628 is now in effect as of January 1, 2026. Here’s what you need to know 👇
🍳 Landlords must now provide a working stove AND refrigerator in all residential rentals — they’re no longer considered optional amenities.
📝 Applies to any new lease, renewal, or amendment signed on or after January 1, 2026.
🔁 Got a recalled appliance? Landlords have 30 days to repair or replace it once notified.
🧊 Tenants CAN choose to provide their own fridge — but it must be agreed upon in writing at lease signing.
🏨 Exemptions include permanent supportive housing, single-room occupancy units, and units with communal kitchens.
