Which Maui condos got a YES on the Minatoya List exemption? ๐Ÿ“Š

Here is how the Maui Planning Commission voted:
โœ… YES: Existing variances, 100% timeshares, licensed condo hotels.
โŒ NO: Leasehold, mixed timeshare/STR, single-owner buildings, and full-service condo hotels.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it matters: Condo hotels with front desks and full staff are the largest group on the list. Because the Commission voted NO, passing exemptions will now require a supermajorityโ€”6 out of 9 Maui County Council votes instead of 5.

Remember: these are recommendations. The Maui County Council makes the final decision!

Aloha. If you own a Minatoya-list condo, the last two weeks were a lot. Here's the short version.

September 22: the Planning Commission recommended denial for 43 of 48 properties, 6โ€“2. Only five made it โ€” the ones with existing variances, full timeshare buildings, and one on a condo hotel license.
September 29: the Council sent 32 more properties to the same Commission anyway.

Here's what almost nobody is saying out loud. A denial recommendation raises the bar โ€” the Council now needs six of nine votes, and only five voted yes last week. That math matters more than any single meeting.

Still nothing final, and no building has been rezoned. Send me your building name and I'll tell you where it actually stands.
