Job site visits today to view construction progress on three Lahaina rebuilds for folks who lost their homes in the Lahaina, Maui fires - projects are moving along, and homes are getting rebuilt one at a time. Two of the clients already had designs ready, so I prepared the county construction permit sets, coordinated the structural engineering and meetings with the contractors, and obtained building permit approvals for their home rebuilds. Two more of the Lahaina fire rebuilds will be new designs. 😊 It’s nice to help folks in need of housing…

I’m happy to announce that hard work is paying off and 2 Lahaina fire victim families will have new homes under construction very soon!

In the past month, my architecture office has received Maui County building permit approvals for 2 Lahaina residential rebuild projects in the fire zone. We have been diligently working since last Spring on these projects and approvals, with the engineering and construction teams, as well as the clients.

We are excited to see these projects come to life, supporting the Lahaina rebuilding efforts.

There is a lot of work happening in the fire zone, tons of new vegetation growth, and residents and workers returning to the area. It’s exciting to see all the activity and hard work efforts to bring new beginnings and restoration to such a special place.

Site planning and architectural design underway for this Lahaina residential rebuild project. Sadly, my client lost his entire home in the Lahaina fires. Together, we are dreaming up what’s next on this cleared lot, ready for a brand new 💫 start. Optimizing his ocean and mountain views, we spent the morning walking the site and reviewing floor plans to see where we’d like to make adjustments and check opportunities to capture.
