Real estate buyers: do you want your own Realtor or should you just use the Seller's Realtor to help you?

IMHO, you absolutely want your own Realtor who is looking out for your interests and making sure everything runs smoothly for you. The Seller's Realtor is working for the Seller. The Seller is also paying for me as the Buyer's Realtor so it's not coming out of your pocket. If you were in a lawsuit you definitely wouldn't want the other party's attorney representing you, especially if you got your attorney for free.

Tax reform ended up not being as bad for homeowners as they earlier proposed. They removed some of the benefit for buyers of lower priced homes and really high priced homes. The average Ko'olau loa homeowner and buyer might even be slightly ahead because of the tax reform bill.

The Realtors Association fought hard for these improvements to what Congress had proposed just a week ago. I have personally donated several thousand dollars towards lobbying efforts to protect homeowners and private property rights at local and national levels. Grateful for my fellow Realtors and association staff for their excellent work!

NAR remains concerned that the overall structure of this bill poses problems for homeowners and the broader housing market, but the conference committee has made some important improvements to the House and Senate legislation that ultimately will benefit some homeowners and communities.
