Before conditions worsen, take a few minutes to prepare your home:

• Secure patio furniture, trash cans, grills, plants, and anything else that could become airborne.
• Charge phones, portable chargers, flashlights, and necessary devices.
• Bring important documents, medications, and emergency supplies together in one accessible place.
• Clear gutters and outdoor drains to help water move away from your home.
• Move vehicles to higher ground if your area is prone to flooding.
• Avoid parking beneath large trees or weak branches.
• Check windows and doors and make sure they’re securely closed and locked.
• Have water, nonperishable foods, batteries, and basic necessities available in case of outages.
• Never drive through flooded roadways — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Continue monitoring official local weather alerts throughout the day.

Joy doesn’t always mean everything around us is easy. Sometimes, joy is the strength God gives us to keep going when life feels heavy.

Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that our strength isn’t found in our circumstances—it’s found in the Lord. When we stay rooted in Him, He gives us a joy the world cannot take away.

Praying we carry that kind of joy into this week: steady, peaceful, and anchored in God. 🤍
