You do not need a full vacation rental to host on Foxhole.

Official Travel on Foxhole can be a great option.

But you need to know what you are doing.

If you are traveling on official orders, start by opening Foxhole and switching over to the Official Travel map.

Search your destination.

From there, you will only see hosts who have opted into serving Official Travel guests.

Those hosts have also agreed to let Foxhole manage their Official Travel pricing so the stay stays aligned with the authorized government lodging rate.

That is the easy part.

The important part is this:

Always follow your unit SOPs, your orders, and whatever travel guidance applies to your specific trip.

Sometimes staying at a Foxhole on Official Travel makes perfect sense.

Sometimes a hotel is the better or required option.

Foxhole is not here to tell you to ignore your travel rules.

We built Official Travel to give military travelers another option when it makes sense.

So know your orders.

Know your unit policy.

Then check the Official Travel map and see what is available.

If it works for your trip, great.

If it does not, do what your mission requires.🦊🇺🇸

Foxhole does not charge guest platform fees.

For short term stays, you are paying the host for the stay. Foxhole does not add another percentage at checkout just because you booked through the platform.

That matters more than people realize.

Some platforms charge the guest an additional service fee at checkout. That money goes to the platform, not the host.

Other platforms charge the host a much higher percentage of the booking. When a host is losing 15% or more to the platform, they naturally have to think about raising their nightly price to make the numbers work.

Foxhole takes 4% from the host.

The host keeps 96%.

And the guest pays no Foxhole platform fee.

That is a big reason you can often find a better price on Foxhole.

We are not taking a large percentage from the host and then turning around and charging the guest again on top of it.

For long term rentals, it is free for guests to browse and send requests to hosts.

For homes for sale, it is free for buyers to browse and send requests to sellers.

Travel, Rent, or Buy, the idea is the same.

Keep the platform cost low for the host and keep Foxhole free for the guest.

And if you ever see a Foxhole priced higher than the same property somewhere else, that is not because Foxhole added a guest fee.

It means the host needs to take another look at how they priced the listing.
