THE MIDDLE DOESN’T GET ENOUGH CREDIT

Everybody loves a comeback story once it has a pretty ending.

They love the new keys, the paid invoice, the healed smile, the successful business, and the “look how far I’ve come” picture.

But nobody talks enough about the middle.

The middle is answering emails while your life is still in boxes. It is keeping promises when your own plans fell apart. It is doing grown-woman business with a tired heart, an unfinished list, and no clue where the charger went.

The middle does not look impressive. Sometimes it looks like surviving Wednesday without throwing the laptop through a window.

But this is where the woman I’m becoming is being built.

Not after everything gets easier.
Right here, while it is still hard.

Today’s Ripple Challenge
Let one small offense end with you.
Don’t replay it.
Don’t repeat it.
Don’t return it.
This challenge applies to minor, everyday offenses—not abuse, danger, or situations that require accountability and protection.
Why This Creates a Ripple
Small offenses often grow because they are replayed internally, repeated to other people, or returned through another unkind action.
Choosing not to continue the cycle prevents one careless moment from becoming several.
You can release a minor offense while still keeping necessary boundaries and addressing serious harm appropriately.
Not every frustrating moment needs to become a lasting workplace conflict.
Today’s Ripple Challenge is to let one small offense end with you.
Do not replay the rude tone all day. Do not repeat unnecessary gossip. Do not return frustration to the next customer, coworker, contractor, or family member.
Serious concerns still require documentation and accountability. But minor aggravations do not have to travel through the entire team.
Good leadership knows which problems need action and which offenses need to be released.

“For stronger work-order documentation, capture four things: the full area before work, a close-up of the condition, the repair or materials in progress, and the full area after completion. Add clear notes and measurements when needed. Good documentation makes the scope easier to understand and the finished work easier to verify.”
