Battery pack testing is becoming more complex, and simply collecting more data isn't enough.

When voltage, current, BMS signals, temperature measurements, and other test data come from multiple devices, synchronization and communication delays can impact both testing efficiency and the ability to respond quickly to changing conditions.

Chroma's 17050 Battery Pack Test System addresses these challenges with an integrated middleware architecture designed to bring multi-device data together while enabling low-latency control and real-time decision-making. The result is improved data integrity, faster protection response, and more reliable battery pack validation.

Functional safety validation is not a single step in vehicle development. It extends from early system design through component testing and vehicle integration.

The Chroma 8620 OBC & DC-DC Converter Power HIL Testbed supports this process by bringing real-time Power HIL testing into the ISO 26262 development workflow.

Engineers can evaluate OBC and DC-DC converter behavior through component and system-level testing, with capabilities including fault injection, control flow testing, data testing, and timing analysis.

By connecting design requirements with verification and validation, the 8620 helps identify potential issues earlier and build confidence as designs progress toward vehicle integration.

Why does an EV charge successfully with one charger but encounter problems with another?

EV–charger interoperability issues can be difficult to diagnose, especially when the exact conditions that caused a failed charging session are difficult to reproduce in the lab.

With GB/T 27930-based charge recording and playback, Chroma PowerPro 5 allows engineers to capture CAN communication data from actual EV charging sessions and recreate those scenarios through the Chroma 8000 test system.

This makes it easier to investigate interoperability issues, reproduce abnormal charging behavior, validate corrective actions, and build reusable EV–EVSE test scenarios without relying on the physical vehicle and charger every time.
