✨Next month I will be celebrating 25 years of selling real estate in Lake Havasu, crazy to me!
I dropped out of high school and moved to Havasu when I was 15 years old with a boyfriend, my hope chest and $20 in my pocket. I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do with my life. I got my GED when I was 17 and just NEVER thought about or worried about a career. I had my son Dylan when I was 18 years old and just knew I needed to work and figure it out as I went along.
My Mema sold real estate in Texas and used to tell me all the time that I should be a “real estate lady,” go into pharmaceutical sales, or become an attorney. None of those things ever really resonated with me, but I can still hear her saying it. She also always told me to “polish my apple.”
Funny how things come full circle.
Today I’m am celebrating 8 years with Realty ONE Group, Mountain Desert. The company, the culture, and especially the people have meant so much to me. My broker Mimi and the crew that hold us all up make this place special.
When I was deciding whether to change brokerages eight years ago, my Mema played a big role in that decision. After I had already made up my mind, another company came along and offered me a pretty size-able recruiting bonus that was very tempting at the time but it would have locked me into a contract, splits, and royalties.
