Be intentional about making time for creative projects.

Don’t let the 20% fall behind the 80%. You’ll always stay busy with small tasks yet you’ll never get ahead. Don’t work on the 80% because it seems urgent.

The creative projects that push the needle further should take priority. However, it never seems to work that way.

By the time you’re caught up on phone calls, emails, messages, social media, and daily tasks, you don’t have the focus or energy needed to have productive thinking time. In turn you create lower-quality results or no results at all.

If you aren’t intentional about the way you run your life, life will run you.

Accountability may be inconsistent.

Expectations are not always clear.

Praise and graciousness are not always present.

Timing is rarely convenient.

Stress can be bountiful.

Results can be hard to measure.

But it all comes back to: do you enjoy what you do?

If so, the lack of accountability and vague expectations fuel you to go above and beyond.

If so, you grow to understand your results and the value you bring to the team without being told.

If so, you’ll gladly put down your personal life to put out a fire or help another team member.

It’s all about loving what you do.

Find yourself something that fuels you as Black Kanyon fuels us.

🌮 El Charrito: We proudly introduced a taco shop to 502 Main - El Charrito, adding a delicious dimension to our building.

💼 Financial Triumphs: We are excited to announce that our Assets Under Management (AUM) have doubled, marking a significant achievement in our financial journey.

🏢 Business Expansion: We bought two operational businesses, one in Minnesota and another in Wisconsin, expanding our footprint and impact.

👩‍💼 Leadership Transitions: A big shoutout to EJ Drake who embraced business operations for our two new operational businesses.

🏡 Real Estate Ventures: This year, we welcomed 4 new properties into our portfolio, expanding our real estate presence. Additionally, we successfully sold 2 properties, making strategic moves in the market.

💻 Innovations in Finance: We developed a finance software tailored to our business needs, streamlining our operations and enhancing efficiency.

🔄 Property Refinancing: Two successful property refinances speak to our dedication to optimizing our assets and ensuring sustainable financial health.

🌐 Team Growth: We welcomed Raygen Randall our first Black Kanyon Intern, and we're thrilled to share that they are now a full-time member, taking charge of Real Estate Operations for Black River Holdings and ascending to the role of CEO at Blacklist.

📢 Strategic Hires: Faith Leiseth joined the Black Kanyon Team as the new Marketing Director, bringing fresh perspectives and creativity to our growing team.

🤝 Team Collaboration: We are constantly growing and changing. Matt Schreiber, recently transitioned from Operations Manager to Finance Operations, supporting Jared Gass in steering the financial aspects of our business toward success.

✈️ Aviation Milestones: Blacklist welcomed a new pilot, contributing to the strength and skill of our aviation team.

Private plane = convenience and efficiency. Not to mention never having to deal with crowds, security, you name it.
