Blog Posts

Recently, I posted I left Twitter, aka X. In addition, I left TikTok and recently Threads. My goal is to also leave Facebook and Instagram. The latter two have been harder to do.

For now, instead of posting here, I will be writing more over on my blog. I actually have 2 blogs. One blog is on my website @ bettyjung.com and the other is @ Lake Oswego Life (wordpress.com/lakeoswegolife).

What I am trying to say is I won't be posting here for quite a while again. I hope you join me at either blog instead.

Business plans

Over the holidays, I listened to Oprah Winfrey's podcast interviewing Ina Garten. It was about Ina's new book "Be Ready When The Luck Happens".

As a REALTOR®️, now in my 49th year, I have prepared 49 business plans for what the next year should look like and what I want to accomplish. It is strongly recommended that we, as agents, have a 1 year, 3 year and/or 5 year business plan.

What surprised me during the Ina interview is that neither Ina, nor Oprah, have ever had any such business plan or even long-term goals. They mentioned others, such as Stephen Colbert, who also has never had any written plans.

One thing both mentioned is being prepared, know what and how to do something, so that when an opportunity presents itself, you are prepared to catch it, and hold on to that opportunity.

I have not read Ina's book yet, but I have it on order. She is, and has always been, my favorite celebrity chef.
