Is the Portland housing market finally settling into a rhythm?

As we move into June, we are seeing what I would call a firming market. Activity is picking up, but the trends are not uniform across the metro area.

The most striking detail right now is the contrast between neighborhoods. Southeast Portland has seen a significant 12.9% rise in activity and pricing strength. Meanwhile, we are seeing some continued softness on the West side, which actually provides a different set of opportunities for buyers looking in those specific communities.

Understanding these micro-markets is essential if you are planning a move this summer. What happens in one zip code doesn't necessarily dictate the value of your specific home or your strategy for buying.
