If you’re currently asking yourself: can I stay in this house long-term, or does it make more sense to move? Here’s what I'd tell you.

While aging in place can be a great option, over time it usually means making updates so your home continues to work for you.

Some of those changes are simple. Others can be more of an investment.

That’s why planning ahead matters if you think you want to go this route. It gives you the chance to spread out the work and the costs over time.

But it’s also okay if you don’t want to take that on.

If this has crossed your mind at all and you’re trying to decide what’s next, what projects to tackle, or what else is out there, let’s talk it through.

Good article on the recent drop in interest rates and the positive impact it may have on the real estate market. For the Portland area, a drop from 7% to 6% mortgage rate could allow 49,000 more households to afford a median priced home. Perhaps this Spring is the time to make your move!

Curated by Smartbrief. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.98% this week—its lowest point in three-and-a-half years. The drop could potentially unlock millions of new buyers who had been sidelined by affordability constraints when rates hovered around 7% just over a year ago. An....

Despite what you may be hearing in the headlines, experts agree home prices are still projected to rise overall in 2025 – just at a slower pace than we’ve seen recently.

On average, forecasters say it’ll be about a 1.5-2% increase nationwide this year.

While some markets are seeing prices level off or dip slightly right now, a dramatic drop across the board isn’t expected. Prices may even be what some would argue as closer to flat by the end of this year.

But context matters, and what you should always keep in mind is, nationally, prices are up 55% compared to just 5 years ago. So, some slight declines don’t drastically change the game.

But every market is different. So, let’s talk about what prices are doing in our area and what that means for your plans.

Right now, the housing market looks really different depending on where you live.

In the Northeast and Midwest, there are more buyers than sellers. That means in many markets in those regions, homes are in short supply and sellers have the upper hand.

But in the South and West, the opposite is true. There are more sellers than buyers. That gives buyers more options and more negotiating power. But even within a region, your local market may be different than the larger regional trend.

It’s a tale of two markets – and this story comes down to location.

If you’re not sure what’s happening in our area, let’s talk. I can help you figure out what kind of market you’re in and what that means for your next move.

The low mortgage rate you have right now might be hard to give up, but sometimes life has other plans.

And when your needs change, your house may need to change too – even if that means leaving your low rate behind. And more homeowners are realizing that today.

79% of people who are thinking about selling today are doing it because they need to move for non-financial reasons, like family, health, a new job, or other major life changes.

While your rate matters, sometimes you just can’t wait anymore. And that’s okay. With an agent’s help you can find something that fits what you need right now and still falls in your budget.

If your home no longer works for you, let’s talk about your options.

Summer has officially arrived and with it a typically active real estate season. The good news this year for buyers is that there are more homes to choose from and perhaps a little less competition from other buyers. For sellers, market values are still strong and activity is picking up. This is a great opportunity to make your move! Here's a quick update of the Lake Oswego market.

Do you know one of the biggest factors that determines whether homebuyers or sellers have more power during negotiations? It’s inventory.
And lately, the supply of homes for sale has grown. That means things are shifting from the intense seller’s market of the past few years to a slightly more balanced market today.
But this is going to vary a lot by area – it all depends on how many homes are for sale and how many buyers are looking in that local market.
