A GREAT DAY OF FIELD TRAINING WITH OUR SOUTH CAROLINA TEAM!

Our South Carolina Mossy Oak Properties Land and Farms Realty team spent the day together sharpening the skills that help us better serve landowners and buyers across the state.

We started the morning at our Myrtle Beach office, enjoyed a wonderful lunch together, and then headed out to a stunning SC farm for some hands-on field training.

We spent the afternoon flying drones, practicing photography and videography, working on mapping and property evaluation skills, and continuing to build the tools we use every day as land specialists to understand, market, and showcase land.

There’s a lot more that goes into selling land than putting a sign at the road and a listing online. Understanding the property, its features, access, terrain, boundaries, and how to effectively capture and present it to potential buyers all matter.

One of the things I love about this career is that there is always something new to learn — and when your office can be a beautiful farm like this one, training days are pretty hard to beat!!

REASON #2895 TO HOMESTEAD IN SOUTH CAROLINA: ENDLESS ELDERBERRIES!

When most people look at a piece of land, they see trees, trails, and open space.

I see food.

These elderberries weren't planted by us—they've been here all along, growing wild throughout our South Carolina homestead. Every summer, our trails become lined with clusters of berries just waiting to be harvested. It's one of those reminders that the land is constantly giving back if you're willing to slow down and pay attention.

This is just the first elderberry harvest of the season here on our homestead. With different shrubs and clusters ripening at different times, we'll be harvesting well into late summer and early fall.

This first harvest is headed to the dehydrator, where it'll be preserved for future batches of elderberry syrup, teas, gummies, and other homemade pantry staples.

One of my favorite things about rural land is that it's often productive long before you plant your first garden. Wild elderberries, blackberries, muscadines, persimmons, medicinal herbs, and native plants can all be part of what the land already provides—you just have to learn to recognize them.

To me, that's one of the greatest benefits of owning land. You're not just buying acreage. You're investing in a place that can feed your family, support your hobbies, connect you with nature, and become a legacy for generations to come.
