This Friday afternoon, we enjoyed another successful Palomino Derby! Pot O'Gold raced to victory in the first and second races, while Belmont Blue captured the excitement by winning the longest and final third race. Residents had a blast cheering on their favorites and enjoyed every minute of the fun-filled event. The energy, laughter, and friendly competition made for a wonderful afternoon at Palomino Gardens!

We recently held another Bead Bonanza class in the lounge, and it was a wonderful success! This was Palomino Gardens' fourth highly successful Bead Bonanza class, and residents had a fantastic time showcasing their creativity.

Participants created beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and keychains for their relatives and loved ones. The room was filled with laughter, conversation, and artistic inspiration as everyone worked on their unique designs.

The class was a tremendous success, and residents are already looking forward to the next one!

Dr. Samantha Meyers not only brought healthy snacks, but also shared a wealth of knowledge and hands-on exercises that empowered our residents to take charge of their balance, posture, and overall well-being. Through practical demonstrations and easy-to-follow techniques, residents learned valuable strategies to help prevent falls and maintain their independence.

As part of our Balance Month in September, Dr. Samantha Meyers of SAMA Physical Therapy presented an informative lecture on balance, injury prevention, and the important roles that ear balance and foot stability play in maintaining mobility and reducing the risk of falls.

Residents also learned preventive exercises designed to improve posture, strengthen their core muscles, and enhance stability while standing and walking. The session provided valuable tips and practical techniques to help residents stay active, safe, and confident in their daily lives.
