🕵️‍♀️ A little real estate detective work saved a homeowner from spending about $800 this week.

We needed a copy of the property's survey, but it was nowhere to be found. The assumption was that a new survey would need to be ordered.

Before spending the money, we started looking through some of the paperwork that was still available from previous transactions. That led us to the title company that handled an old refinance and, luckily, they still had a copy on file. 🙌

No new survey needed!!

🏡 Homeowner Tip:

Keep copies of your survey, title policy, and other closing documents. Better yet, save digital copies too. Many homeowners don't realize these documents can still be useful years later and replacing them can be expensive.

Sometimes the easiest way to save money isn't finding a discount. It's simply knowing what paperwork to keep and where to look for it.
