Help restore the places you love at an upcoming Hurricane Helene Cleanup!
With the help of many volunteers, we'll be able to make a big impact in removing trash and debris brought by Helene from our shared waterways. We are especially in need of motorboat owners willing to ferry people out on the lakes to pick up trash and debris!
Current cleanup sites include:
Oct. 26 | Lake Norman | Pinnacle Access Area
Nov. 2 | Mtn. Island Lake | Riverbend Access Area
Nov. 2 | South Fork | Allen Fishing Access Area
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | Buster Boyd Boat Ramp
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | Morningstar Marinas
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | Nivens Creek Landing
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | Riverside Marina
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | South Point Access Area
Nov. 2 | Lake Wylie | Tega Cay Marina
Nov. 2 | Catawba Below Lake Wylie | Lake Wylie Dam River Access
These cleanups are made possible by our collaboration with NC Wildlife Federation, Duke Energy, JMS Equipment, Lake Norman Marine Commission, Lake Wylie Marine Commission, Lake Wateree Association, Charlotte Water, Catawba Wateree Water Management Group, and HDR. Catawba Riverkeeper is working with other partners in the Northern and Southern regions of the river basin to plan future cleanups there once water levels lower and it is safe to go out on the water.
